Richmond’s Bay Walk Community in Marina Bay Ready to Begin Construction

After winning unanimous approval by the City of Richmond in 2014, Development Solutions Seascape plans to build a residential community consisting of 100 town homes and 98 live-work units is getting ready to brake ground this coming spring. A portion of the industrial warehouse which used to be part of the Kaiser Richmond Shipyards has been demolished and soil remediation is currently underway. Once this is completed, estimated to take around one month, the building will be completely demolished making way for the start of construction on the 10 acre property. The project will also include a business incubator suite geared towards non-residents as well as a centrally located park, fitness and BBQ areas and a dog park.

Bay Walk is the latest in a line of residential construction projects slated for Richmond’s Marina Bay community. With the next ferry terminal set to begin operating from Marina Bay to San Francisco in 2018, builders are trying to capitalize on the East Bay’s last remaining, affordable waterfront enclaves. Sales prices are estimated to be between $500K-$600K. Read the latest news article here as well as some more detailed project information from the City of Richmond's website.
